Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing & Budget

  • Voice over pricing depends on three things: project type, script length, and usage rights. A short web ad costs less than a national TV commercial. Internal videos cost less than broadcast campaigns. That’s because usage rights scale with audience size. Most professional voice actors follow the GVAA Rate Guide for fair, transparent pricing. The best way to get an accurate number is to send over your script or project details. I’m happy to put together a custom quote for you.

  • The base price includes the voice over recording, audio editing, and delivery in your preferred format. I deliver broadcast-ready WAV or MP3 files. I record on a Neumann microphone with an Apollo Twin interface in my professional home studio. A round of performance revisions is included at no extra cost. If the script changes after recording, pickup fees may apply. I’m always upfront about costs before we begin.

  • It depends on the project type. Non-broadcast work like corporate narration and e-learning is priced by word count and usage. Broadcast work like TV, radio, and online ads is priced by usage. Usage includes where it airs, how long it runs, and audience size. Feel free to reach out with your details and I’ll walk you through how pricing works for your specific situation.

Turnaround Time & Process

  • Most projects are delivered the next business day or sooner. Next-day delivery is standard for scripts of 1,000 words or less. Same-day delivery is available for urgent deadlines. Just mention it when you book. Longer projects like e-learning courses may take a few days. I always confirm a timeline before we start so you know exactly when to expect your files.

  • I need your script and some direction on the tone or style you’re looking for. A reference video or audio example helps if you have one. Also share the intended use, any pronunciation guides, and your deadline. The more context upfront, the faster I can nail it on the first take. If your script isn’t finalized, I’m happy to help with timing and flow so it reads well out loud.

  • Yes. I offer live directed sessions via Source-Connect, Zoom, phone patch, Skype, and Google Meet. Your team can listen in real time and give direction line by line. This is great for commercials, brand-sensitive projects, or anytime you want to shape the performance as we go. Flexible scheduling is available for clients in different time zones.

  • The process is simple: share your details, get a quote, approve it, and receive your audio. Here’s how it works with me. Send your script with any direction on tone, references, or deadlines. I’ll reply with a quote and timeline. Once approved, I record and deliver broadcast-ready files — typically next business day or sooner. Live directed sessions via Source-Connect or Zoom are available too. If you need any changes at all after delivery, just let me know. I’d be happy to take care of that for you.

Choosing the Right Voice

  • Start with your audience and the emotion you want to convey. Should it feel informative, inspiring, warm, or authoritative? Listen to demos in that style. Pay attention to how the voice makes you feel, not just how it sounds. The right voice should match your brand’s personality. Also consider turnaround time, communication, and studio quality. If you’d like help figuring out what fits, just reach out. I’m happy to talk it through.

  • I specialize in conversational, authoritative, and emotional voice over styles. My most requested read is natural and conversational — the kind that sounds like a real person, not a salesperson. I also bring a deeper, authoritative tone for corporate narration and brand storytelling. Clients love my emotional range for healthcare, nonprofit, and cause-driven content. Warm, caring, sincere reads that connect. I also do character and villain voices for animation and video games. You can hear all of these in my demos on the homepage.

  • Conversational and authentic is the most requested voice over style in 2025–2026. Brands are moving away from the classic “announcer” voice. Audiences prefer voices that sound like a real person talking with them. This shift is driven by podcasts, social media, and a broader demand for authenticity. The goal is a read that feels genuine and relatable. It’s one of my strongest styles and what most of my clients ask for.

  • There’s no universal rule. The right choice depends on your brand, message, and audience. Female voices are often perceived as empathetic and trustworthy. Male voices can convey authority and confidence. But delivery style matters more than gender. A warm male voice can feel just as nurturing as a female one. Focus on the feeling you want your audience to have. Then listen to demos and choose the voice that creates that feeling.

Quality & Revisions

  • A round of revisions are included to make sure you’re completely satisfied. If the tone or emphasis isn’t right, I’ll re-record at no extra charge. Script changes after delivery may involve a small pickup fee. I also offer a 100% money-back guarantee. I want to make sure the voice over is perfect for your project, so don’t hesitate to let me know any changes you need — big or small.

  • I deliver broadcast-ready audio in WAV or MP3, or whatever format your project requires. Files are recorded on a Neumann microphone with an Apollo Twin interface. Audio is edited and cleaned for consistent levels and zero background noise. If you need separated files, labeled takes, or specific technical specs, just let me know and I’ll take care of it.

AI, Technology & Industry

  • For content where connection, trust, or emotion matter, a human voice actor is the better choice. AI text-to-speech has improved but still lacks emotional nuance and cultural context. AI can work for quick drafts. But for most projects a human delivery creates authenticity and emotion audiences respond to. Most brands in 2025–2026 use AI for drafts. They rely on human talent for final, audience-facing content.

  • No. Every voice over I deliver is 100% recorded by me in my professional studio. I do not use AI voice cloning, text-to-speech, or synthetic generation in any client work. The voice you hear is authentically mine. Real emotion, real nuance, and real creative choices made for your specific project.

Why Use Voice Over

  • Voice over adds a human element that text and visuals alone cannot achieve. A professional voice injects personality, guides emotion, and builds trust. In videos and ads, it holds attention and drives action. It even allows viewers to better consume your content on the go. Content with professional narration is consistently more engaging and memorable. Whether it’s a commercial, explainer video, or training module, the right voice makes your message stick.

  • In most cases, yes. Professional voice over boosts engagement and conversions in video ads. The human voice creates emotional connection and trust. Those are key drivers of purchasing decisions. A compelling voice guides viewers through your message. It makes the call to action land harder. A strong VO script improves pacing and structure for all viewers.
